I would be careful with using downloads here as a measure. What are called downloads are actually simply hits on the website and I think 3 or 4 of the top 5 on that list were featured in that "Spotlight Item" box in the upper lefthand corner of the GD homepage. Also the Barton vote seems to be split between 3 sources.

Personally I think this is kind of a silly exercise. You can't get a consensus opinion on the best show or for that matter best 10 shows from a single year and now we are supposed to figure out the best from a 30 year run? There are too many peaks in the mountain range that is the work of this band to try to figure out which one is the highest.

A few that should be on any list...10/12/68, 12/5/71, 9/27/72 and 8/1/73.

You're right about the Felt Forum 12/5/71 show. Shows move in and out of my ever-crowded iPod, but that one (SBD) never leaves.
